ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ

Merritt Island Mindfulness

Merritt Island, owned by ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ, is a beautiful 28-acre island located in the New Meadows River less than 25 minutes from campus. This trip will spend time exploring local beaches and canoeing around Merritt Island. The focus of this trip will be on mindfulness, meditation, and wellness.

Unplug, unwind, and settle into island time. Located just 25 minutes from campus, Merritt Island is a 28-acre ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ-owned gem tucked away in the New Meadows River. Enjoy island life for a few days participating in activities such as swimming, canoeing, sunbathing, or wandering around the island. You will even have the opportunity to explore a larger beach nearby. Be prepared to sleep in tents and use an outhouse.

Trip leaders and student affairs staff will lead participants in meditation exercises, yoga, and other facilitated activities to hone students skills in these practices. Further, students will have plenty of time for swimming, games, and getting to know one another. Get a taste of island life in Maine on this Orientation trip!
