Rangeley

Enjoy four peaceful days in Maine’s western mountains with the Rangeley trip, based at Rangeley Lake State Park. This is a relaxed, choose-your-own-adventure trip. Each day, your group will decide what sounds most fun—whether that’s hiking nearby, swimming in the lake, or playing cards.

Sample Itinerary

Wednesday

  • Depart from ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ in a 12-passenger van.
  • Arrive at Rangeley Lake State Park and set up camp. 
  • Spend the afternoon swimming, exploring the area, or settling in.

Thursday

  • Choose a day hike! Great options nearby include:
    • Bald Mountain – short and scenic
    • Piazza Rock – fun boulders and forest trails
    • Saddleback Ski Area – beautiful alpine terrain
    • Smalls Falls – picturesque and great for photos
    • Or venture to the Bigelows for a longer day on the Appalachian Trail (about an hour drive)

Friday, August 30

  • Head to Oquossoc to pick up your canoes 
  • Spend the day paddling on Rangeley Lake, stopping to explore coves or picnic by the shore.
  • Return canoes and head back to camp. 

Saturday, August 31

  • Return to campus after a morning adventure. Clean all camping gear and return borrowed equipment to the BOC before returning to dorms
