• Run or Evacuate if it is safe, warning and helping others if you are able to do so, and make your way to a safe location before calling Security or 9-1-1. 
• Do NOT pull the fire alarm.
• Hide in a secure location within the building, locking or blocking the door if possible and stay away from windows. Keep silent and wait for instructions or an “all clear” signal
• If multiple people are sheltering together, spread out to avoid giving the shooter a massed target. 
• Silence the ring and vibrate functions of any cell phones before calling Security or 9-1-1. 
• Fight if approached by the shooter, use whatever means at hand (tools, furniture, fire extinguishers, etc.) to fight. 
• When the responders arrive their priority will be to take down the shooter-- not to help you or others. Do not approach or call out to them, keep your hands open and raised, and follow all instructions given by them. 

• Collect as much information from the caller as you can while having another person contact Security or 9-1-1. 
• Suspicious package or object:
  • Do NOT touch,
  • Do NOT use your cell phone near the package or object
  • Evacuate

Indicators that make a package or object considered SUSPICIOUS are : 

1. the presence of unusual dusts, powders, oily stains, discolorations, crystallization, odors, wires, or protrusions;

2. the package is lopsided, bulky, misshapen, atypically rigid or heavy, or sealed with excessive tape or string;

3. the address is badly typed or written, misspelled, lacking a proper name, or lacking a return address;

4. the postage is excessive for the item, from a foreign country; or

5. the persons handling the package are experiencing ill effects, such as respiratory distress, itching or watering eyes, sneezing, rashes, dizziness, or nausea. 

Based on the information provided to them, Security will likely evacuate the building and notify the police and fire and rescue services.  All occupants of the building should turn their CELL PHONES OFF to prevent the accidental triggering of any radio-controlled device.

• Evacuation is MANDATORY-- DO NOT assume it is a drill.
• Do NOT use elevators.
• Take only personal belongs (e.g. keys, jacket, bag).
• Close doors behind you as you exit.
• Move to the primary or secondary rally point, whichever is safer.

It is not unusual for domestic or other personal disputes to spill over into the workplace. 

• When confronted with a threatening person, remain calm and keep them occupied while another person calls Security or 9-1-1, or use the panic button if one is present in the workplace. 
• If the assailant becomes physically violent, react as for an active shooter.

If you have been trained to use a fire extinguisher and the fire is small enough to deal with safely, pull the alarm to evacuate the building and then attempt to put the fire out before exiting yourself. 

• When a smoke or fire ALARM sounds, follow the marked and lighted egress routes to the nearest emergency exit, using the stairs, not the elevator, and closing doors as you go. 
• Leave all unnecessary possessions behind and leave your workstation as is. 
• Help others exit if you are able to do so. 
• If there is smoke stay low to the floor. 
• If you become trapped make your way to the nearest place of refuge and await rescue. 
• If you catch on fire - STOP, DROP, and ROLL. 
• Once outside proceed to your designated rallying point. 
• Do NOT re-enter the building until the all-clear.

• Activate the nearest first alarm pull station as you exit and follow the building evacuation procedures.
• Do NOT use light switches or electrical equipment.

• Survey the scene as you approach and only provide assistance if it is safe to do so.
• If trained, administer first-aid, CPR, and/or AED.
• Do NOT attempt to move the person unless necessary.

• If the incident is indoors, and if it is safe to do so, close all adjacent doors in order to isolate the area.
• Do NOT attempt to clean up the material.
• If a fire or explosion is (or may be) involved, activate the nearest alarm pull station and follow building evacuation procedures.

• Do NOT physically confront the person.
• Do NOT let anyone into a locked room or building.
• Do NOT block the suspicious person’s access to an exit.

• If safe, secure vital equipment, records, and hazardous materials.
• If safe, shut off nonessential electrical equipment.
• Move to a safe area.

The primary hazards posed by severe weather, earthquake, or flooding are physical damage to people and structures and the loss of utilities.  If your workplace is impacted and immediate evacuation is impractical, seek a secure location within the building away from windows and other exposed areas.

• Call Security or 9-1-1 and await rescue. 
• Take shelter. Restrooms in the core of a building are preferred for the availability of drinking water and waste facilities should prolonged sheltering become necessary.
• Bring practical personal items to your shelter (i.e., winter coat, purse, medications, flash light, water bottle, food, etc.) with you, as it may not be safe to access them again. 
• Do not light open flames as gas leaks may occur - use flashlights or cell phones.
• Follow official instructions.
• Prepare for potential power outage.
