Auditions

The Department of Theater and Dance held auditions for our fall 2025 play, Guys and Dolls in the spring of 2025, and we are now going to have supplemental auditions. There will be two separate auditions:

Guys and Dolls: Ensemble Auditions:

We invite all students to audition! Please sign up for a 10-minute time slot in Campus Groups. Auditions will be held on Friday, September 5, from 4:00-9:00 and will be held in Memorial Hall, room 108.

Directed by Dr. Jessica Pearson-Bleyer, the show will run November 6-8, 2025. Guys and Dolls is a Golden Age musical that has been called the “perfect musical comedy.” This production will reimagine this classic show for the 21st century. During this round of auditions, we will be casting 2 ensemble roles.

Besides signing up for a time slot in Campus Groups, please have the audition form (available in the ) filled out and bring it to the audition. Students will be asked to perform a monologue and song cut, each no longer than three minutes, from any source material. There will not be a piano accompanist available: feel free to sing acappella or bring your own backing track.

Guys and Dolls: Featured Dancer Auditions

All students are invited to audition. Group dance auditions will be held Saturday, Sept 6, from 10am-12pm in Memorial Hall, room 601. Please sign up on Campus Groups and plan to stay the whole time.

Students will participate in a dance call that includes across-the-floor work, improv, and partnered combos. Some dancers may be asked to stay for an additional 30-60 minutes for a callback.

All performers cast in this production are required to register for Course THTR 1700 for Fall 2025. Course credit is 1.0. Please contact Dr. Pearson-Bleyer at j.pearson@bowdoin.edu with any questions.
